Books ; The Confessions of Catherine de Medici by CW Gortner

Not one of us is innocent. We all have sins to confess.

Catherine de Medici ; Queen Consort of France, Queen Mother of France,Queen Regent of France
A Queen, a mother ...and a survivor.

Before reading this book, I always took Catherine de Medici as an evil enigma (thanks to Reign series that I followed once but could not stay loyal to). I loathe this Queen in the series but after reading this book, my perspective change.. totally. I began to understand why she needed to be cruel. She lived for her children and her kingdom. She had to be cruel. She needed to have control amidst the politics and tragedies. This book is one hell of a ride. That, I can assure you.
Love is a treacherous emotion. You'll fare better without it. We Medici always have..
If you love historical-fiction, you'll love this book. This book has immediately became my favorite. Did I tell you Queen Catherine possessed magic ability? Ever heard the name Nostradamus? That's like the Queen's bestest friend. Yeah. You know me and magic? We instantly clicked. That's one of the reasons too.
They think I will die. I want to die. I long to sink into blessed oblivion forever. But not yet..France clutches at me : she will not let me rest.
